We are more powerful together.
Hunger Free Oklahoma is bringing diverse stakeholders to the table to address hunger in Oklahoma today. Together we are working to improve food and hunger policy, expand access to nutritious food, and reduce food insecurity and its harmful consequences. As connectors and advocates, we use research and data to inform policy and practice and to help state and local governments, nonprofits, congregations, schools, and other stakeholders ensure that more Oklahomans access three meals a day, seven days a week.
Join us at the table by donating today. Donations by partners in the community, such as you, allow us to employ innovative strategies, evaluate systems, and advocate for common sense policies and practices to reduce hunger in Oklahoma. Every dollar raised is a step towards ensuring that more children have access to three nutritious meals a day, that families don’t have to skip meals to pay for diapers, and that seniors don’t have to choose between medications and dinner.
Hunger Free Oklahoma would like to share our story with you! Invite us to present at your agency meeting, congregation, association, or coalition today. Hunger is a complex issue and by sparking a dialogue rooted in research and data, we can build consensus and support to end hunger in Oklahoma. The effects of hunger in our state impact all of us and it will take all of us to solve the problem.
If your organization or community is interested in hearing more about Hunger Free Oklahoma, please request a presentation. Hunger Free Oklahoma would love to talk with your group about hunger and how, together, we can move the needle on food insecurity in Oklahoma.
As Hunger Free Oklahoma grows, our programming will expand to supporting community level action across the state. Locally, we will work with individuals and organizations to identify opportunities to close the hunger gap through collaboration, policy, and advocacy. Our goal is to leverage existing resources and systems to empower communities to address their own hunger needs through the creation and support of Hunger Free Communities.
Hunger Free Communities are public-private partnerships that exist to bring together diverse stakeholders from government, private business, nonprofits, faith communities, and the community at large, to end hunger right where they live and work. Hunger Free Communities help to solve hunger locally by assessing the extent and causes of hunger, designing strategies and coordinated plans to ensure all community members have access to enough nutritious food, and implementing plans using a coordinated approach that leverages private and public partnerships.
