Policy and Advocacy Manager
The Tulsa based Policy and Advocacy Manager will work directly with the Executive Director and leadership team to identify and execute annual policy priorities, recruit and coordinate with partners in advocacy efforts, design effective communications materials regarding policy issues, and monitor new policy concerns as they are proposed at every level of government. Specifically, Hunger Free Oklahoma’s Policy work focuses primarily on the Federal Nutrition Programs and ensuring that resources are distributed to individuals in need in the most effective and efficient way possible. While the programs are federally funded, much of the administrative and legislative solutions can be addressed at the state and local levels. This position will work at every level of government to remove barriers and increase impact of the programs.
Hunger Outreach Program Specialist – OKC
The OKC based Hunger Outreach Program Specialist will become an expert in Federal Nutrition Programs in order to educate the community on the benefits of the programs, assist schools and community organizations in application and implementation, and improve program and participant outcomes. They will also be integral in supporting community organizations to act strategically and locally to address hunger. This position will serve as the voice for Federal Nutrition Programs across the central and western region of the state – building strategic partnerships, serving as a resource and consultant, and working with the Hunger Free Oklahoma policy team to identify roadblocks to success.

Hunger Free Oklahoma is seeking a one year, full-time, AmeriCorps VISTA to be a part of our work to strengthen local community efforts through communication, expanding partnerships and resources to get people to work together, and affect large-scale, positive change. Anticipated start date of 8/5/19. This position is through Baylor University’s Texas Hunger Initiative.
